Keeping Pets at Home and Out of Shelters

Our Mission:
At Animal House Project, we’re dedicated to helping families in need care for their companion pets. By providing donated pet food and pet care products, we aim to prevent pets from being surrendered to shelters due to financial hardship.

Since our inception, Animal House Project (dba Chester County Pet Food Pantry) has been committed to helping individuals and families facing financial hardship care for their beloved companion pets.

We proudly support a diverse group of people in need, including:

  • Seniors and retired military Veterans living on fixed incomes

  • Returning military personnel unable to rejoin the workforce

  • Victims of domestic violence seeking safety and stability

  • Low-income single parents teaching their children responsible pet ownership

  • Unemployed individuals navigating difficult times

  • Individuals living with life-threatening illnesses

Each request for assistance is carefully reviewed and vetted, ensuring our support reaches those who truly need it most.

 

 

Need Help Feeding Your Pets?

We offer supplemental food and supplies for a variety of companion animals including:

  • Dogs

  • Cats

  • Horses

  • Rabbits

  • Ferrets

  • Guinea pigs

  • Birds

  • Reptiles

When available, we also provide:

  • Pet care products

  • Low-Cost Vaccination Clinic

  • Access to low-cost spay/neuter services through grants

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for assistance, you must:

  • Have a Federal Taxable Income within 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines

  • Have no more than 6 companion pets at home (up to 4 cats/dogs, plus other small animals)

  • Provide proof of financial need or crisis

  • Submit a copy of your valid Pennsylvania photo ID (address must match application)

  • Agree that pets are for companionship only (not for breeding or illegal activity)

  • Provide proof that your pets are spayed/neutered

  • Commit to providing medical care (including vaccinations) and maintaining a healthy environment for your pets
